The studio supports a limited number of local members, alongside resident artists.

Memberships

Designed to provide access to shared facilities, without subsidized labor or materials.

❋ Members are responsible for loading, firing, unloading, and cleaning kilns Independently.
❋ Membership does not include clay, materials, glaze, firing fuel (electricity, propane, or wood), kiln-use fees, or firing labor.

What Our Membership Includes

    Access to shared studio and work tables during posted hours.

  • Shelf Space

    Designated shelf space for storing work in progress

  • Equipment Access

    Full use of studio equipment including wheels, slab roller, and hand tools.

  • Glaze Storage

    Shelving in the glaze room to store personal glazes

  • Collaborative Energy

    Community: it’s the kind of meaningful connections that develop naturally when people make things together

  • Kiln Rentals

    Access to electric, gas, and wood kilns (firing fees and fuel costs apply)

Studio Membership FAQs

  • Yes. You should be comfortable working independently. If you're newer to the ceramics world, reach out and we'll figure out if it's a good fit.

  • Keep your area clean, respect shared spaces, help out with weekly studio cleaning, and make sure the place is locked up if you're last to leave. Basic stuff but it matters for our community environment. Follow all studio safety rules which is outlined in our membership agreement.


  • You schedule your own firings, but all firings need approval from Arizona Clay Space before you start. Kiln orientation is required first. Once that's done, you're good to go.

  • It covers safe operation, loading protocols, and kiln-specific policies. You'll sign an acknowledgement when you complete it. It's straightforward, and it protects everyone, including your work.

  • Yes. Members can share loads and split costs by mutual agreement. Just coordinate directly with the other member and make sure the scheduling and approval process is followed.

  • You're responsible for any damage your work causes to kilns or kiln components. If it's fixable, you either repair it yourself or cover the cost. If it's not fixable, you replace it. We determine what's needed and we're fair about it.

  • Membership can be paused at Arizona Clay Space's discretion. If you need to step away for a bit, just reach out and we'll talk through your options.
